Tough test awaits men's golf at Pirate Intercollegiate

The Lipscomb men’s golf team looks to finish the 2013 fall campaign on a winning note in its final two tournaments, beginning in Greenville, N.C. to take part in the Pirate Intercollegiate.

The intercollegiate is a 54-hole tournament on Monday and Tuesday, hosted by East Carolina University at the Brook Valley Country Club. The course is a transformed par-71 with a 6,653-yard layout.

In the two day tournament, 36 holes will be played on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.

Bisons coach Will Brewer will send senior Dustin Wilder, junior Paul Klein-Kracht and freshmen Dowling Armstrong, Sydney Chung and Mikey Feher.

The last time out, Feher posted a career-low 67 in the APSU Intercollegiate on his way to a fourth place finish. Feher leads the Bisons with a 71.5 stroke average over nine rounds. Feher has placed inside the top-10 in all three tournaments this fall.

Chung is second on the squad with an average of 72.6.

The Pirate Intercollegiate will field the toughest test to date for the Bisons. Eight teams will be competing, while Duke and Charlotte will send individuals only.

According to the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, Charlotte ranks 56th, host ECU (69th), Duke (74th), Towson (103rd) and Presbyterian (146th). The Bisons are ranked at No. 195.
