MACON, Ga. – On the heels of leading the Lipscomb men’s golf team to a fourth-place finish in Monday’s Southern Intercollegiate, sophomore Stoney Crouch has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week as announced by the league on Wednesday.
The Mount Juliet, Tennessee, native finished in third place in the 36-hole event hosted by the University of Georgia at the Athens Country Club in Athens, Georgia. The sophomore opened the day with a par, 72 round before closing the event with a -2, 70 behind five birdies in the final 18 holes. His 142 total found him just two strokes from finishing atop the leaderboard.
Earning his first conference weekly laurel, Crouch joins freshman teammate Dawson Armstrong as recipients of the league’s weekly honor in 2014-15.
The Bisons continue spring action on March 30-31 at the First Tee Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
