NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With six events set for the 2015 fall calendar, Lipscomb men’s golf head coach Will Brewer is set to build upon the new heights set by his team in 2014-15.
“We put together a schedule that is very similar to last fall,” said Brewer. “We upgraded one of our events going to Georgia State’s Autotrader.com event instead of going to Western Kentucky this year.”
The Bisons open the slate at the Bridgestone Match Play Championship hosted at Chateau Elan, host site for the 2016 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship.
“We feel like that it’s advantageous for us to start the year there,” said Brewer. “It gives us the chance to play the golf course three or four times this fall and have eight different players get experience before the conference championship next year. It’s important for us to learn as much as we can about the golf course”
Lipscomb continues September with a trip west on Interstate 40 to play in the Memphis Invitational Sept. 21-22. The Bisons then compete four times in October starting with the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate hosted by North Carolina State in Raleigh, North Carolina Oct. 5-6.
The Bisons will then make an appearance in the Autotrader.com Collegiate Classic for the first time Oct. 12-13 in the event hosted by Georgia State. Action then continues in the “Peach State” on Oct. 19-20 with the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia, an event that Lipscomb finished third in in 2014.
The fall campaign concludes Oct. 25-27 as Lipscomb returns home to play in the Intercollegiate at the Grove in nearby College Grove.
“We’ve had a great summer and a lot of our players have played really well,” said Brewer. “I’m looking forward to us getting back in action and seeing how we compete this fall.”
