Men's golf opens Wolfpack Intercollegiate in sixth

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Lipscomb men’s golf team got off to a solid start in the 2015 N.C. State Wolfpack Intercollegiate on Monday in Raleigh, N.C. finishing the day in sixth place.

The Bisons ended the day with a +11, 295 to sit just outside the top-5 in the 16-team field.  West Virginia sits atop the field after a +5, 289 just one stroke ahead of Campbell.

Sophomore Dawson Armstrong paced the Purple and Gold with a +1, 72 to complete the afternoon in a tie for eighth. Fellow sophomore Eric Ansett followed just one stroke behind Armstrong with a +2, 73 putting him in a tie for 15th.

Junior Stoney Crouch finished right behind Ansett in a tie for 28th with a +3, 74.  Junior Mikey Feher and sophomore Hunter Howell rounded out the competitors for Lipscomb with the duo each carding +5, 76s. 

Augusta’s Robin Petersson and West Virginia’s Max Sear sit atop the leaderboard as co-leaders after -3, 68’s to start the 36-hole event.

The Bisons will take to the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at 7:45 a.m. for the final round of action.
