Darkness suspends Pinetree Intercollegiate during round two

KENNESAW, Ga. – Darkness halted play early in the 2015 Pinetree Intercollegiate on Tuesday with the Lipscomb men’s golf team sitting in fourth place with a few holes remaining in the second round.

The Bisons opened the day with a 300 in the first 18 holes at the Pinewood Country Club tying Jacksonville State for third place.  With six holes remaining in the second round for the Purple and Gold, Lipscomb sits in fourth place.  The event will resume on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. from the “Peach State”.

Junior Mikey Feher and sophomore Stoney Crouch are leading the way for Lipscomb at +2 in a tie for eighth place.  Feher opened the day with a +1, 73 and currently is one-over par with one hole to play in the second round.  Crouch started the tourney with a +4, 76 but has rebounded in the second round sitting at two under after 17 holes completed.

Sophomore Eric Ansett sits one stroke back of the duo with two holes remaining at +3 on the day after carding a +3, 75 to open the event.  Fellow classmate Dawson Armstrong, the reigning Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Week, also has two holes to go in the second round.  Armstrong opened the day with a +4, 76 and currently sits at even par for the round and +4 overall in a tie for 16th.  

Hunter Howell rounds out the competitors for the Bisons in a tie for 34th.  The sophomore finished his 36 holes on Tuesday with a +8, 152 (77, 75).

Memphis currently sits atop the leaderboard with at -6, three strokes ahead of host Kennesaw State.  Memphis’ Lars Van Meijel leads the field at five under.
