Showers force early end to Intercollegiate for men's golf

COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – The persistent rain from the remnants of hurricane Patricia forced the cancellation of the final round of the 2nd annual Intercollegiate at the Grove on Tuesday for the Lipscomb men’s golf team.

With the final 18 holes rained out, the Bisons finished 2nd behind No. 26 Kentucky in the 12-team field.  Junior Stoney Crouch finished second with a -3, 141 just ahead of sophomore Dawson Armstrong, who tied for third with a -1, 143.

Sophomore Eric Ansett finished tied for 26th with a +7, 151 ahead of Hunter Howell and Mikey Feher, who finished tied for 45th and 49th, respectively.

The Intercollegiate at the Grove wraps up the best fall in school history for the Bisons as Lipscomb finished in the top five in each tournament including a win at the Autotrader.com Collegiate Classic.  The Purple and Gold kick off spring action on Jan. 30-Feb. 2 at the Sea Best Invitational hosted at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville, Florida.
