NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb director of golf Will Brewer has added a talented transfer to the team for the spring season as Trevor Gold has transferred from the University of Illinois and is eligible to compete immediately for the Bisons.
“Trevor is a young man that I initially recruited three years ago but he chose to go to his home state university,” said Brewer. “He’s a perfect fit for our program and I believe he’s gotten better and improved from the time I recruited him. We’re excited to have him and I think we’ll see great things out of him soon. He will bring leadership and experience from a very strong program to our team.”
The Eureka, Illinois native signed with the powerhouse Illini program after earning Illinois High School Association All-State honors four different times. Gold also posted top-10 finishes in four IHSA State Championships including a pair of runner-up honors in 2013 and 2014. He also earned the Peoria Journal Star Boys Golfer of the Year honors in 2011 and 2013.
The Bisons lift the lid on the spring slate Feb. 6-7 at the Sea Best Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida.
