ASUN names Armstrong Men's Golfer of the Week for the 9th time

LAKEPOINTE, Ga. – After claiming medalist honors in the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship on Tuesday, Lipscomb’s Dawson Armstrong has been named the ASUN Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for the ninth time in his career as announced by the league on Thursday.

The Brentwood, Tennessee native claimed the honor after winning a three-hole playoff over Kennesaw State’s Chris Guglielmo at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi to collect his fifth collegiate title. Armstrong opened the event with a -7, 65 on Monday and followed up with an even-par round on Tuesday to lead the Bisons to a second-place finish.

The weekly award is the ninth of Armstrong’s career an ASUN Conference record.

The Bisons return to the course on Monday and Tuesday hosting the inaugural Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate at the Richland Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee.
