Men's golf to host inaugural Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb men’s golf team is set to welcome 13 teams to the “Music City” on Monday and Tuesday for the inaugural Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate hosted at the Richland Country Club.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to host this event at the Richland Country Club,” said Lipscomb director of golf Will Brewer. “We’re really appreciative of our sponsor Colin Reed and Ryman Hospitably.  It should be a great event.  The course is in great shape and we should have good competition.

“We would love to have a lot of people come out and watch.  In college golf, very seldom do you have a proverbial home game, so when we have one, we really want our fans to come out and enjoy it. There’s no admission charged and the rules to follow are simple:  Stay on the cart paths. Stay behind the players and keep your cell phone on silent. We will be on the course from 8:30 a.m. until about 6 p.m. on Monday.”

Herd notes:

  • The Bisons will be joined in the field by Abilene Christian, Belmont, Bradley, Chattanooga, George Washington, Marshall, Mercer, No. 22 Ole Miss, Omaha, Samford, USC Upstate, Western Kentucky, Xavier.
  • The two-day, 54-hole event is slated to get underway on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on day one with a final 18 holes of action on Tuesday.
