Men's golf ready for challenging slate in 2017-18

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fresh off an appearance at the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships, the Lipscomb men’s golf team is ready to get to work on the 2017-18 with the announcement of the upcoming schedule.

“We’re excited about getting back out there and competing,” said Lipscomb director of golf Will Brewer. “We flipped the schedule a little bit with more events in the spring this year.  We decided to do that because of the quality of events we were able to get into in the spring. It’s the strongest schedule we’ve ever faced and it’s going to be a challenge.  But we’re excited about the challenge of continuing to grow, continuing to get better and continuing to recruit good players as we coach this team back to the finals and beyond.”

The campaign will feature some familiar events for the Bisons including the 2018 Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate hosted at Richland Country Club.

Herd notes:

  • Lipscomb opens the season with a repeat appearance in the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
  • The Bisons will make inaugural appearances in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, the Bayou City Collegiate, the Gator Invitational, the Desert Mountain Invitational and the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational.
  • The schedule features three trips to the “Sunshine State” including two events (Sea Best Invitational and the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational) at TPC Sawgrass.
  • The 2018 ASUN Conference Championship returns to the Legends Course at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia.
