Trio of men's golfers earn GCAA All-America Scholars honors

NORMAN, Okla. – Postseason accolades continue to pile up for the Lipscomb men’s golf team members as rising senior Eric Ansett and recent graduates Stoney Crouch and Mikey Feher have been announced as members of the 2017 Sirxon/Cleveland All-America Scholars team in conjunction with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The honor is the first for Ansett, Crouch and Feher and the first in the history of the Lipscomb program. Ansett and Crouch golfers were previously honored this season by the ASUN Conference as members of the league’s All-Academic squad for their work in the classroom and on the course.  Ansett was also honored as the ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year.

A record 260 student-athletes received the honor in Division I. To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
