EL PASO, Texas – Taking on 29 of the top collegiate golfers in the country, Dawson Armstrong recently notched a 5th-place finish in the 43rd Annual Andeavor Sun Bowl College All-America Classic hosted at the El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas.
Firing rounds of 66, 69 and 68, the senior finished the exclusive event, that has previously been won by Tiger Woods, Matt Kuchar and Davis Love III, with a -10, 203. Armstrong edged out fellow Tennessean Davis Shore by one stroke in the event. He finished second in the event in par 4 scoring at -12 and tied for third in birdies with 16.
Doug Ghim from the University of Texas won the event with a -18, 195 (67-64-64) that tied the 54-hole tournament record.
Armstrong and the Bisons return to action Feb. 4-6 in the Sea Best Invitational hosted by Jacksonville University at TPC Sawgrass.
