Men's Golf gears up for SunTrust Gator Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two weeks after opening the spring season in the state of Florida, the Lipscomb men’s golf team is headed right back there on Saturday and Sunday for the 41st Annual SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.

The University of Florida’s event is set to begin with 36 holes on day one at the 6,701-yard, par-70 Mark Bostick Golf Course. Action concludes with the final 18 holes on Sunday.

Mark Bostick Golf Course has served as the Gators home course since the 1960s and has been the home to the Gator Invitational since 1978.

Lipscomb is coming off a 9th-place finish at the Sea Best Invitational where it shot +17, 857 (280-285-292). Senior Eric Ansett finished tied for 2nd after losing on the first playoff hole. He earned ASUN Golfer of the Week honors after firing a -6, 204 (67-68-69) and leading the field with 16 birdies.



  • Joining the Bisons in the field are host No. 6 Florida along with No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 14 Arkansas, No. 25 South Florida, No. 27 Missouri, No. 32 North Florida, College of Charleson, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Liberty, Mississippi State, Troy, UAB and UCF.

The Bisons get another two-week break before heading west to Scottsdale, Arizona for the two-day Desert Mountain Invitational on March 3-4.
