WEST POINT, Miss. – The Lipscomb men’s golf team heads to the Magnolia State on Monday to wrap up the regular-season slate at the 2018 Old Waverly Collegiate Championship at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
The two-day competition hosted by Mississippi State opens with a pair of rounds on Monday at the par-72 course that lays out at 7,000 yards. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
Lipscomb is coming off a 2nd-place finish at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate last week, its highest of the spring season.
Senior Dawson Armstrong will look to continue the momentum he built on the final day at the Ryman. The Brentwood, Tennessee native set the Richland County Club course record with an 8-under par, 63 after recording six birdies and an eagle. The finish was good enough to earn him co-medalist honors at -5 on the week.
For his efforts, Armstrong collected his 12th-career ASUN Golfer of the Week award, tying him for the most career ASUN weekly honors all-time. This week will be the final opportunity for him to get No. 13.
