Men's Golf Completes Day One Of Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate

NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb men's golf team completed the first day of the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate on Monday evening and has one squad in 11th and one squad in 16th.

The tournament was cut down to just 18 holes for the first day of competition due to rainy conditions this morning.

The Lipscomb "A" squad fired an opening-round 297 to end the day in 11th and the Lipscomb "B" squad sits in 16th after an opening round 316. Samford leads the 15-team field at 285.

Out of all 10 Lipscomb participants, Davis Armstrong paces the Bisons on the leaderboard. The junior fired a one-over, 72 for his opening-round and is tied for 13th.

Eric Gilpin and Paul Swindell are not far behind and are tied for 30th. Both players carded 74's on their first day of competition.

Freshman Sebastian Salazar is one shot behind Gilpin and Swindell and is tied for 38th after his opening-round score of 75.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes tomorrow.
