VERO BEACH, Fla. - The Lipscomb men's golf team concluded play at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate after firing a final-round 278 on Monday.
The Bisons moved up one spot on the leaderboard after finishing sixth yesterday and ended the tournament with a 54-hole total of 844.
Notre Dame won the team title at 821, one stroke better than South Florida (822).
Paul Swindell was the leader for the Purple and Gold, as he finished in fourth at 204 (71-67-66). This was Swindell's second-consecutive top-five finish and his best 54-hole score of the season.
Nolan Ray finished on a high note by posting a final-round 66 and tied for 28th at 211. Connor McKay was consistent over the two days of competition with rounds of 70-70-72 for a 212 total to tie for 33rd.
"It's so good to finish the fall season on a high note," director of golf Will Brewer said. "Paul, Connor and Nolan held us together today. I'm so proud of the mental resolve and the never give up attitude that I see in this team.
"A coach desires men who, 'want it', and these guys demonstrated their willingness to compete everyday in practice and in the weight room. Now we have a little time off to rest and recover. Coach Buck and I are proud to be coaching these studs."
This concludes the fall portion of Lipscomb's schedule this season.
