PALATKA, Fla. - Former Lipscomb men's golfer, Ryan Terry took home top honors at the Florida Azalea Amateur over the weekend.
Terry got off to a solid at Palatka Golf Club firing scores of 69 and 66 in the first two rounds to give him a two-shot lead heading into the final round. However, Sunday's finale provided a little drama.
As Terry made his way to his final tee box, he was unknowingly tied at the top of the leaderboard with competitor Steve Albright, who finished ahead of Terry and had day on the course by firing a 63.
Terry, a Nashville native, stayed locked-in on his final hole and put his approach shot within 15-feet of the cup for a birdie attempt. He would go on to sink his 15-foot putt and claim the championship at 6-under with a final round 69.
With the current state of sports cancelations, Terry's next outing is uncertain.
