The Lipscomb men's soccer team will make its fifth consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament appearance Wednesday, Nov. 9, when the fifth-seeded Bisons face fourth-seeded Mercer in Johnson City, Tenn. at 3 p.m. CT.

On Senior Night, senior Garret Pettis became Lipscomb's all-time leading goal scorer, lifting the Bisons to a 1-1 tie with Mercer. The tie clinched a berth in the A-Sun Tournament for the Bisons.

Freshman Shea McGee scored his first goal as a Bison, and older brother Brent made six saves but it was not enough for the Bisons in a 3-1 loss to Stetson. Lipscomb now turns its attention to Thursday's regular season finale against Mercer.

Senior Drew Longinotti scored his season's first goal, but Florida Gulf Coast used a penalty kick and a strong offensive evening to down the Bisons, 2-1. The Eagles outshot Lipscomb, 17-5.

After his record-tying four-goal performance in Lipscomb's 5-0 victory against North Florida, Sunday, Lipscomb senior forward Garret Pettis has been named the Atlantic Sun Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. The award is Pettis' first of 2011 and the third of his career.

Senior Garret Pettis netted a school-record tying four goals in Lipscomb's 5-0 win over visiting North Florida, Sunday. Keeper Brent McGee picked up the shutout, but Pettis' offensive theatrics stole the show at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
