Former Bison Kevin Terry is following his father, Kevin Sr., on the soccer pitch, this time as a referee.

The Lipscomb men's soccer team will make its fifth consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament appearance Wednesday, Nov. 9, when the fifth-seeded Bisons face fourth-seeded Mercer in Johnson City, Tenn. at 3 p.m. CT.

On Senior Night, senior Garret Pettis became Lipscomb's all-time leading goal scorer, lifting the Bisons to a 1-1 tie with Mercer. The tie clinched a berth in the A-Sun Tournament for the Bisons.

Brent, Evan and Shea McGee have made soccer a family affair at Lipscomb. The brothers, who play their final home game together tonight, sat down with LipscombSports.com and reflected on soccer, music and being a family.

The Lipscomb men's soccer team will end the 2011 regular season at home against Mercer, Thursday at 7 p.m. A win or tie on Senior Night will clinch the Bisons a berth in the A-Sun tournament.

Freshman Shea McGee scored his first goal as a Bison, and older brother Brent made six saves but it was not enough for the Bisons in a 3-1 loss to Stetson. Lipscomb now turns its attention to Thursday's regular season finale against Mercer.

Senior Drew Longinotti scored his season's first goal, but Florida Gulf Coast used a penalty kick and a strong offensive evening to down the Bisons, 2-1. The Eagles outshot Lipscomb, 17-5.

A-Sun Player of the Week Garret Pettis leads the Bisons into a pivotal portion of the 2011 schedule looking for points to solidify the purple-and-gold position in the standings.

The award is Pettis' first of 2011 and the third of his career.
