Bisons close out seven-game road trip at Belmont

The Lipscomb Bisons soccer team finished the last of seven straight road games a little more than a mile from home.

Coming off a 4-0 loss at Atlantic Sun rival Belmont Saturday afternoon, it will be good for the Bisons to play a game this week in front of the home crowd Thursday night at 4 when Gardner-Webb visits.

Corey Alexander scored the first goal for Belmont at 6:48 with a shot from approximately 30 yards out. With Bisons' goalkeeper J.D. Murphy out of the box, Belmont's Channing Twyner scored the second goal of the game at 11:30.

In the second half, Belmont also scored a pair of goals. Mete Ozkan scored on a penalty kick for Belmont at 65:33. Ian Schinelli headed the ball by Murphy to close out the scoring at 84:12.

Belmont made 17 shots while the Bisons made nine. Kevin Terry, Josh Cline and Jorge Suarez each made two shots.

Murphy made three saves for the Bisons.

Kyle Roelke made four saves for Belmont.

Belmont is 5-4-1 overall, 2-1-0 in the conference. The Bisons are 2-6-1, 0-3-0 in the conference.
