Final Stats

It was easily the most disappointing loss of the season.

The Bisons were unable to jumpstart their offense in a 1-0 Atlantic Sun loss to visiting Stetson Thursday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

"This was a big opportunity that we missed," said Lipscomb coach Charles Morrow. "I expected us to win. I expected us to score.

"To Stetson's credit they were better than us. They outworked us. It was a good wake-up call for us."

Midfielder Kirk Labusch scored an unassisted goal at the 17:33 mark of the first half to give Stetson the only goal of the game. He shot from the right side of the field, drilling a line drive to the wide left side of the net to beat Bisons goalkeeper Danny Prichard.

Lipscomb made nine shots, but had only one shot on goal from defenseman Tim Hunter.

"The way we practiced is not the way we played against Stetson," said Morrow. "It is not the way we had played leading up to the Stetson game."

Stetson made 14 shots, nine shots on goal.

Prichard was credited with eight saves.

The Bisons fell to 5-5-1, 1-1 in the A-Sun. Stetson is 3-8-1, 2-0-1 in the conference.

Saturday afternoon at 3 the Bisons welcome Mercer to campus for an A-Sun match.
