Lipscomb soccer coach Charles Morrow has announced the signing of junior college All-American midfielder Ricardo Atti from Coral Springs, Fla.

Atti is a former All-State performer from Pompano Beach High School. He has spent the last two seasons at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo., where he was also a member of the 2006 National Junior College Championship team.

In 2005 Atti, a native of Rio de Janeiro, was also an All-Region performer in 2005 and 2006 for Jefferson and an All-District team member in 2005 and 2006.

He was the National Player of the Week in the NJCAAA during October 2005.

Atti, 5-foot-11, 172 pounds, captained his high school team for three seasons, from 2003-2005. He was the most valuable player in 2004. He scored 76 goals in three high school seasons, including 25 in 10 games as a senior.

Atti is the son of Maria and Roberto Atti. He plans to major in Exercise Science.

"I chose Lipscomb because it is a Christian school," Atti said. "I feel that I will have people helping me grow as a Christian, student and as a soccer player."
