Bisons ready for first home game against Georgia State

The Bisons soccer team returns home Sunday afternoon looking to get on the winning track.

When they meet Georgia State Sunday at 1 at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex, the Bisons will be trying to rebound from a 3-0 road loss at UAB in Birmingham, Ala., Friday night.

This will be the first regular season home game of the season for the Bisons.

After battling to a scoreless tie at the half, UAB scored three second half goals.

Derek Rios scored at the 48:15 mark from about six yards out. At the 58:46 mark Dejan Jakovic scored on a one-timer for eight yards away. Anthony King closed out the scoring at 85:53 with a goal on a breakaway.

Jake Goergen was in net for the Bisons. He made four saves. The team was credited with two. UAB made 20 shots, including nine shots on goal.

The Bisons made 12 shots with four shots on goal. Ben Page and Miguel DaSilva each had two shots on goal.

The Bisons fell to 0-3 on the season. UAB is 1-2.
