The drive for a first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference regular season championship just got a little tougher.
The Bisons gave up one goal in the first half and two in the second as Jacksonville won 3-1 Friday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
The Bisons out shot Jacksonville 20-17 and held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal but could not bury the ball in the net.
Senior goalkeeper Jake Georgen made three saves for the Bisons. Jacksonville goaltender Matt Gilman stopped all eight shots he faced.
Philip Meyner scored one goal and assisted on another for Jacksonville.
The Bisons are 5-7-3 overall, 4-2-2 in the A-Sun. Jacksonville is 8-6-1 overall, 6-2 in the conference.
The Bisons are back in action Sunday at 1 against visiting North Florida. It will be Senior Day.
