The Tennessee Preseason Challenge is coming to Lipscomb University.
The Bisons soccer program has organized the challenge, which will be held on the Lipscomb campus Jan. 28 through Feb. 2, 2008, to help prepare local high school boys' teams for the first day of official practice.
Players will train with their own teams and will also compete against other high school teams in the area. Individual work will be part of the program even though the emphasis is on team training.
There must be a minimum of 15 players on team In order to qualify for participation. High school coaches of the participating teams will staff the camp and have the opportunity to see their teams play on a daily basis.
The TPC Team Camp is scheduled for Jan. 28-Feb. 1 from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $115 per player. Each player will receive a soccer ball and T-shirt.
The TPC Individual Camp will be held Feb. 2. The cost is $50 with sessions from noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m. Participants will also receive a soccer ball and T-shirt.
The combined Team and Individual Camp runs from Jan. 28 through Feb. 2. The cost is $150.
The Tennessee Preseason Challenge has worked with the TSSAA to ensure that all appropriate preseason guidelines are being followed.
