Friday, September 25, 2009The first stop on the Lipscomb Bisons tour of South Carolina was less than enjoyable.
They lost to Furman 3-0 Friday night at Stone Soccer Stadium in Greenville, S.C., in the first half of the “South Carolina-Tennessee Soccer Challenge”.
Furman jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half. The Paladins had three different players score. Debola Ogunseye scored the first goal at 32:04 and Warren Creavalle scored 3:36 later. Coleton Henning assisted on both goals.
In the second half Furman scored once with Fabien Vorbe finding the net.
Patrick Walsh, 1-2-0, was in goal for the Bisons. He allowed all three goals and also made three saves.
Furman only attempted eight shots, six of them shots on goal.
The Bisons tried seven shots, with three shots on goal. Garrett McLaughlin, Garret Pettis and Andrew Chamberlain each had one shot on goal.
The Bisons, 3-4-1, will play Wofford Sunday afternoon at 2 in Spartanburg, S.C. Furman raised its record to 3-2-2.
