Tuesday, November 06, 2012 MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb senior Ethan Summers and sophomore Robbie Johnson have been named Atlantic Sun Academic All-Conference for their grades and play on the field during the 2012 season. Summers, an Ogden, Utah native, has a 3.63 GPA while majoring in business management. With a breakout senior year, Summers earned the A-Sun Defender of the week following a five-point weekend with an assist and two goals. Summers dished an assist in a loss to Elon while hitting his first career goal, a game-tying goal, against Oral Roberts. With the score tied 2-2 in overtime, Summers followed the act with the game-winning goal. For the season, Summers has accumulated three goals and two assists while providing savvy veteran leadership from the midfield position. Johnson, a native of Geneva, Ill., owns a 3.78 GPA majoring in engineering. The defender dished an assist in the 3-1 victory over A-Sun champion Florida Gulf Coast. Holding down a defensive line that has constructed five shutouts this season, Johnson has also positioned 13 shots including six on frame. The Bisons open A-Sun Tournament play Wednesday with a 6 p.m. match against USC Upstate. |
