NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Omar Djabi, midfielder for the men’s soccer team, earns College Sports Madness Atlantic Sun Player of the Week after scoring three goals over the weekend.
It is Djabi’s second Player of the Week honor. The first came in week one after scoring two goals to defeat Belmont 3-1 to open the season.
Djabi scored twice in Friday’s win over Jacksonville. Both goals came off set pieces.
Sunday, Djabi scored the only goal for the Bisons on a free-kick just outside the top of the box for a 1-0 victory over North Florida. He had the game-winning goal in both games, giving him his third and fourth of 2013.
Djabi leads the Atlantic Sun with eight goals scored, a total that places him in a tie for 11th in the nation. His 18 total points also leads the A-Sun.
Djabi has two assists to his credit on the season.
The Bisons are back in action Saturday at 7 p.m. when Northern Kentucky visits the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
