Men's soccer battles to a draw at Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Lipscomb men's soccer team traveled to Memphis on Saturday to take on the Memphis Tigers in their third of five spring playing days.  Following an impressive 3-1 win in their last outing against Evansville, the Bisons were looking for a similar result against Memphis.

Although the Bisons controlled a large part of the possession time and created numerous scoring opportunities, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

"We did not quite get the result we were after this evening, but we are encouraged with the team's performance and overall work this spring,” Lipscomb coach Charles Morrow said. “We are growing and getting better both collectively and individually.

“The attitude of the team has been good and we feel that we are on the right trajectory to reach the goal of a conference championship and beyond."

A tie at Memphis is a program first for the Bisons.  A program first that the Bisons will look to better in the fall as the Tigers travel to Nashville to play in the Lipscomb / Hyatt Place Select Invitational Tournament.

Next up for the Bisons is the Lipscomb College Soccer Spring Showcase on April 5th.

Belmont, UAB, Kentucky, Memphis and Lindsey Wilson are slated to join Lipscomb for this year's inaugural event. "The team is looking forward to playing some of the region's best teams and showing that we belong in that group,” Morrow said.

Admission is free for the showcase and times and schedule can be found online at
