Kerridge nabs A-Sun Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference released its first weekly awards for 2014 and Lipscomb’s Matt Kerridge brought home his first career Player of the Week honor after a stellar weekend on the pitch.

The redshirt junior scored two goals and tallied an assist to help secure the Bisons’ wins over Xavier and Eastern Illinois.

Friday night at Xavier Kerridge beat two defenders in the 48th minute and slid the ball past the keeper for his first-career goal.

The Golden, Colorado native responded with the best game of his career Monday at EIU. Kerridge scored in the 14th minute to give Lipscomb an early lead it would not relinquish.

He also assisted on Omar Djabi’s game-winning goal six minutes later.

Kerridge is tied for the A-Sun lead in goals (2) and points (5). His lone assist ranks third.

The Bisons return to the pitch Sunday Sept. 7 for a road matchup with Evansville at 4 p.m.
