Men's Soccer receives vote for NSCAA Top 25 poll

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the first time in the history of the program the Lipscomb Men’s Soccer team has received a vote in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25 poll.

The Bisons attracted the attention of voters after going on the road to beat Evansville 2-0 on Sunday.

It is the third consecutive road win for Lipscomb to start the 2014 campaign, defeating Xavier and Eastern Illinois last week.

The 3-0 start for the Bisons is their best in Lipscomb’s NCAA era.

Earlier in the week Lipscomb received recognition in the NSCAA Southeast Region Poll and was voted the fourth-best team in the region with 41 votes.

The Bisons are the co-preseason favorites to win the Atlantic Sun Conference alongside four-time defending champs, Florida Gulf Coast.

FGCU is the only other A-Sun squad to be recognized, ranking No. 24.

The Bisons step back into action this weekend in the Belmont Invitational at Rose Park. On Friday Lipscomb squares off with Gardner-Webb at 3:30 p.m. The Bisons will then kickoff a 12:05 p.m. match with James Madison.
