KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Lipscomb men’s soccer team is ranked No. 5 in the latest edition of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Southeast Poll released on Tuesday (Nov. 4).
After sitting at No. 6 the last four weeks, the Bisons finally moved up one spot after going 5-1-1 in that stretch.
Lipscomb is coming off a win over four-time defending Atlantic Sun Conference champion, Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday. The Bisons downed the Eagles 2-1 in front of a boisterous crowd on senior night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
With the win LU has now won a season-high four game win streak, its longest since 2010.
Lipscomb is one of three A-Sun teams in the poll – Stetson (8th) and North Florida (10th).
For the first time ever the Bisons have found a home in the rankings every week this season, debuting at No. 9 and reaching as high as No. 4 in week two.
Also on Tuesday Lipscomb received two votes in the NSCAA Top 25 poll. It is the most votes ever gotten in the poll by a Lipscomb men’s soccer team in program history.
Lipscomb returns to the pitch Saturday at Jacksonville with the A-Sun championship riding on the line. With a win over the Dolphins, the Purple and Gold will claim its first-ever conference title and the right to host the A-Sun Tournament next week as the No. 1 seed.
Game time is set for 6 p.m. CT.
