Men's Soccer debuts at No. 10 in NSCAA Southeast Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Lipscomb men’s soccer team is ranked No. 10 in the second National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Southeast Regional Poll released on Tuesday.

The Bisons started the season with two losses, but redeemed themselves last week with a 2-1 win at home over No. 10 Xavier. Lipscomb got goals from junior Daniel Vieira and sophomore Ivan Alvarado to edge the Musketeers for the second consecutive season.

Junior goalkeeper Micah Bledsoe was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week after collecting seven saves and earning his 12th career win between the pipes. It was his second career weekly honor. He was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

Lipscomb is one of four A-Sun teams to make the list. The Bisons climbed as high as No. 4 in last year’s rankings.

The Bisons meet Campbell and Appalachian State this weekend at the Belmont Invitational. The match with Campbell is set for 3:30 p.m. on Friday and the game with ASU will kick off at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday.
