Bledsoe nabs third career A-Sun Men's Soccer weekly award

MACON, Ga. – For the second time in three weeks Lipscomb’s Micah Bledsoe was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

The junior goalie helped the Bisons to a 1-0-1 mark over the weekend and a second-place finish in the Lipscomb Invitational. He played all 200 minutes, conceding just one goal.

After collecting five saves in the two-overtime 2-2 draw against Georgia Southern on Friday, Bledsoe came back with a two-save effort and recorded his first shutout of the season in Sunday’s 1-0 win over IUPUI. He now has eight clean sheets for his career.

Bledsoe is currently second in the A-Sun with 30 total saves on the year. His .714 save percentage and 1.61 goals against average ranks third.

The weekly honor gives Bledsoe three for his career.

Lipscomb is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Macon, Georgia to take on Mercer in a 6 p.m. bout.
