KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second consecutive season the Lipscomb men's soccer team was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its success in the classroom during the 2014-15 academic year.
There were 305 men's soccer teams that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher, thus meeting the requirement in earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award.
Lipscomb boasted a 3.06 team GPA and was one of just three teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference to be honored. USC Upstate (3.39) and North Florida (3.22) were the others.
The NSCAA also recognized 554 women’s teams for a total of 859 squads overall to capture the award. Lipscomb is one of 208 institutions to have both programs earn the distinction.
The Bisons will return to action Saturday when they travel to Macon, Georgia to face Mercer in a 6 p.m. match.
