FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lipscomb Men’s Soccer team gets back to Atlantic Sun Conference action Saturday with an important road contest at No. 22 Florida Gulf Coast. The tilt will get underway at the Soccer Complex at 6 p.m.
The contest will be the third ranked opponent, and second consecutive, Lipscomb has faced this season.
The Bisons are led offensively by Matt Kerridge and Logan Paynter, who have scored four goals each. Three of Kerridge’s four scores have served as game-winning tallies, which is tied with Upstate’s Gordon Wild for the conference lead.
His five career game-winners are the most by any active A-Sun player.
Having played over 3,000 minutes in goal for Lipscomb, junior Micah Bledsoe ranks second among active A-Sun goalies with a 1.25 goals against average. He is second in the league this season with 42 saves.
With 63 corner kicks, Lipscomb continues to rank first in the conference in that category. Only 15 of those have come on the road where the Bisons have only one win on the season, a 3-0 win at USC Upstate in the conference opener.

Last Saturday the Bisons traveled to North Carolina to take on their second ranked foe of the season in No. 13 Elon. A 20th-minute goal from the Phoenix proved to be difference in a 1-0 loss for Lipscomb.
The Purple and Gold nearly found an equalizer on multiple occasions late in the second half, outshooting Elon 10-5, with five shots and one corner kick over the final six minutes of play.
SCOUTING No. 22 FGCU
FGCU enters the match as the A-Sun leader with seven points, just one point more than Lipscomb.
The Eagles bring a five-match unbeaten streak into Saturday and have not lost since Sept. 19, a 2-1 defeat to USF.
Florida Gulf Coast has outscored its opponents 13-7. Seven different Eagles have scored a goal this season, led by junior midfielder Dylan Sacramento’s five. Albert Ruiz and Miguel Jamie are tied for second with two apiece.
Kamar Marriott and preseason all-conference first teamer Rodrigo Saravia are tied for the team lead with three assists each.
Junior goalkeeper Nathan Ingham (2-1-3) leads a defense that is only allowing 0.72 goals per match, 20th best in the nation. Ingham has started seven games in net and ranks sixth nationally with a 0.875 saves percentage and a 0.416 goals allowed average.
He leads the league with four shutouts and currently sits second on the A-Sun career shutouts list with 23, just two behind ETSU’s Ryan Coulter with 25. Ingham is also second with a career goals against average of 0.96.
FGCU is looking to extend nation’s longest home regular-season conference unbeaten streak which currently sits at 27. Dating back to 2008 the Eagles have gone 24-0-3 with the last home regular-season A-Sun loss coming to Jacksonville, 2-0, on Oct. 19, 2008.
Saturday’s contest will mark the 10th meeting between the two schools with FGCU leading the all-time series 6-3.
Lipscomb knocked off the Eagles, 2-1, last season in Music City to halt a two-game skid in the series. The Bisons are 1-4 in games played in Fort Myers, with the lone victory coming in the first meeting in 2007, 2-0.
Lipscomb returns home for a midweek tilt with Evansville on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kick off.
