Men's Soccer Trio Named A-Sun Academic All-Conference

MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb’s Matt Kerridge, Kevin McMahon and Daniel Vieira have been named to the 2015 Atlantic Sun Men’s Soccer Academic All-Conference team after putting together successful seasons on the pitch and in the classroom.

The three selections are more than any other league member.

Kerridge, a Golden, Colorado native, has a 3.67 GPA while majoring in Financial Markets. After a breakout year in 2014, Kerridge quietly put together an impressive senior campaign with four goals scored in 14 matches played. He placed 10 of his 21 shots on target.

He led the league with three game-winners, including two in A-Sun play. The forward was a preseason All-Conference selection for 2015 after earning first team honors a season ago.

McMahon found his way onto the All-Academic squad after posting a 3.33 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science. In 10 starts at the forward position, the Dublin, Ohio native produced three goals and three assists. He had just one career goal entering the season.

He collected his first-career multi-goal game with two scores in the 3-2 win against Jacksonville. McMahon put 13 of his 22 shots on frame.

Vieira posted a 3.80 GPA as an Exercise Science major. The junior collected two goals and two assists.

The Johannesburg, South Africa native scored his first-career goal with a first-half equalizer in the Bisons 2-1 win over No. 10 Xavier on Sept. 3. He went on to score the game-winner against Evansville, after collecting two assists in Lipscomb’s 3-2 win over Jacksonville two weeks prior.

Vieira had zero career points entering 2015. He placed 3-of-11 shots on frame.

The honor marks the first time that each player was selected to the All-Academic squad. The A-Sun All-Conference Team and Awards will be announced on Wednesday.

Lipscomb returns to action this weekend when it takes on No. 2 North Florida in the semifinals of the A-Sun Championship. Kick off in Jacksonville is set for 6 p.m.
