KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lipscomb men’s soccer midfielder Ivan Alvarado was named Third Team All-Southeast Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The all-region honor comes on the heels of a second consecutive first team all-conference selection by the Atlantic Sun’s head coaches.
Alvarado closed out an injury-plagued 2015 season on a tear, totaling two goals and three assists in his last four matches. He started 10 games, but was still able to produce four goals and four assists.
On Sept. 3, the sophomore needed just one shot attempt to nail the game-winner against No. 10 Xavier at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. That victory marks the highest ranked opponent the Bisons have defeated in program history.
Alvarado becomes the fifth player in Lipscomb’s history to be named NSCAA all-region. It also makes it the third straight season a player has earned the distinction.
Luke Gearin and Matt Kerridge were selected to the first and second all-region teams in 2014, respectively.
