Bledsoe picks up fourth career ASUN weekly honor

LAKEPOINT, Ga. – For the first time this season Lipscomb’s Micah Bledsoe has been named the ASUN Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

The senior goalie helped the Bisons to a 1-1 mark over the week as they opened conference play against Stetson and Jacksonville.

Bledsoe made three saves to help Lipscomb knock off Stetson 2-0 and earn his league-leading fourth clean sheet of the season. He now has 14 career shutouts, moving him into the top-10 on the ASUN’s career shutout list.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native matched his season high of six saves Saturday in a double-overtime loss at Jacksonville.

Bledsoe finished the week with a 0.94 goals against average and an .818 save percentage.

The award is Bledsoe’s fourth career weekly honor.

Lipscomb is back in action Wednesday when it travels to the University of Kentucky for a 6 p.m. match on SEC Network+.
