NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After posting a 2-1 record over the last two weeks, the Lipscomb men’s soccer team climbed back into the top-10 of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Southeast Region Poll released on Tuesday.
The Purple and Gold vaulted to the No. 10 spot after picking up wins over UAB and USC Upstate, securing the Bisons spot among the best teams in the South Region. Lipscomb debuted at No. 3 in the first releasing of the poll back in August.
Charlotte tops the region, followed by Florida Gulf Coast, Kentucky, South Carolina, Hartwick College, North Florida, New Mexico, Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
Lipscomb has already played Kentucky, UNF and Georgia State, dropping all three, but still has its biggest test to date in the coming weeks against FGCU. The Eagles, who have won a NCAA-best 10 straight games, found themselves ranked No. 11 in the latest NSCAA Top 25 poll released on Tuesday.
The Bisons also came in at No. 81 on the latest RPI poll. UNF (46) and FGCU (81) are the only ASUN Conference teams in the top 100.
Lipscomb returns to action this Saturday when it travels to NJIT for the first time in program history. The match is set to get under way at 1 p.m.
