Men's Soccer Announces 2017 Spring Slate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb men’s soccer team and head coach Charles Morrow has announced a six-game spring schedule filled with a number of familiar faces.

The Bisons opened the spring season last week with a big 1-0 win over Louisville City FC, a professional team in the United Soccer League. The club is located out of Louisville, Kentucky.

The Bisons will play the first of three home matches this spring next Monday, March 20 when they host Korean Christian at 4 p.m. on the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

Lipscomb will then travel to the west part of the state to take on the Memphis Tigers Saturday, March 25 at 7 p.m. The Bisons and Tigers played in the fall when Memphis visited the Music City and left with a 2-0 victory.

The Purple and Gold will stay on the road the following weekend with a trip to Birmingham, Alabama to matchup with perianal power UAB on April 1 at 4 p.m. Lipscomb entertained UAB last October and downed the Blazers 1-0 on a second-half goal from striker Ivan Sakou in the 54th minute.

Lipscomb will then return home to host Evansville on April 8 at 5 p.m. The Bisons and Purple Aces also met in Nashville last fall, with Lipscomb getting a 2-1 victory on goals from Logan Paynter and Malik Shaheed. Evansville added a late goal to get on the board.

To wrap the spring the Bisons will bring back a number of former players to put on an alumni game on April 22 at 3 p.m.
