LAKEPOINT, Ga. – With two massive goals last week including a brilliant chip Saturday at Kentucky, redshirt junior Logan Paynter was named the ASUN’s Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Paynter started the week off well, scoring in his second minute after entering the match against Evansville to start the second half, tying the game.
The week was capped by one of the goals of the year in Lexington. Paynter took a pass from Ryan Birchfield and worked his way to the edge of the 18-yard box. From there, Paynter chipped the goalie and sent the ball into the upper-90, giving Lipscomb a 1-0 lead.
On the season, Paynter has 7 goals, tied for second in the ASUN, and has totaled 17 points, second-most in the conference.
The Bisons are the hottest team in the ASUN winning four straight matches including the 3-2 victory over Kentucky. They’ll put that streak on the line on Tuesday in their final road match of the year when Lipscomb plays UAB. Match time is at 7 p.m.
