Paynter Earns COSIDA Academic All-America Honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The string of awards continue for Lipscomb men’s soccer star Logan Paynter as he was named on Thursday to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® third team as announced by the organization.

It marks the first time in program history that a Bisons soccer player has earned Academic All-American.

A total of 34 student-athletes were selected nationally for the three All-America® teams. Paynter has a 3.86 GPA in Corporate Marketing.

In November, the junior picked up his first CoSIDA District 3 All-Academic selection as part of an 11-member team to qualify him for All-American status.

Paynter is a three-time All-ASUN first teamer and a two-time ASUN All-Academic honoree after being a unanimous pick this season. Earlier in the week, he became just the second Bison to ever earn multiple United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors after landing a spot on the first team.

The Bradenton, Florida product led Lipscomb and finished second in the conference with nine goals and 23 total points, while his five assists were third most in the ASUN.

Paynter registered a point in 10 matches and netted four game-winning goals, which rank 22nd in the nation.

Paynter is the only ASUN player on any of the All-America teams.
