KANSAS CITY – The first United Soccer Coaches region polls were unveiled on Tuesday and the Lipcomb’s men’s soccer team was voted in at No. 8 in the Atlantic Region Poll.
It is the third consecutive year that the Bisons have placed in the debut regional polls.
Lipscomb started off the season Friday with a 2-0 victory over Battle of the Boulevard rival Belmont at home before dropping last night’s match at South Carolina 2-1.
Senior goalkeeper Chris Zappia was recently named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the shutout of Belmont.
Three of Lipscomb’s upcoming opponents for the season were also ranked in their respective regional polls: Louisville, Kentucky, and Memphis. Preseason opponent Mercer was also featured in the rankings.
The Bisons will be back in action on Saturday as they visit Georgia State for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
