Locke named ASUN Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

ATLANTA– Ben Locke helped guide his squad to an important ASUN Conference victory on Saturday, earning him the ASUN Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Locke's performance on Saturday was paramount to Lipscomb’s 3-2 victory against FGCU as he netted a goal in the opening minutes, while adding an assist on the game-winning score.

In the seventh minute, Locke unleashed a strike from 20 yards out to give the Bisons an early advantage. After falling behind 2-1, Lipscomb battled back to even the match before Locke served a ball into the area in the 82nd minute to Daniel Zapata who clinched the victory.

The honor is the second of Locke’s career. The points were his first of the season.

Lipscomb is back in action Saturday, Oct. 6 when it treks to the Sunshine State to take on North Florida at 6 p.m.
