Zappia named ASUN Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

ATLANTA – Lipscomb’s Chris Zappia has been chosen as this week’s ASUN Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bisons to a pair of big road victories.

Zappia garners his second weekly honor of the season after guiding Lipscomb to a 3-2 win over No. 10 Louisville on Tuesday and a 2-1 win over NJIT on Saturday.

The senior netminder came up with six big saves against the Cardinals before following it up with four more stops against the Highlanders. He ranks third in the ASUN this season with a .722 save percentage and fifth with 39 total saves.

Zappia improved his overall mark between the pipes to 5-4 on the year, as Lipscomb overtook the top spot in the ASUN table with 12 points.

The Bisons return to action Tuesday when they host Memphis at 7 p.m. at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
