NASHVILLE – On the heels of a historic Sweet 16 run in the NCAA Tournament, the Lipscomb men’s soccer team continued its postseason-award tour Wednesday when United Soccer Coaches released its All-Region teams.
Senior Logan Paynter landed a spot on the second team All-Atlantic Region, adding another piece of hardware to his mantle.
Paynter becomes just the second Lipscomb player (Ivan Alvarado) to ever earn three All-Region honors after bringing home a second team nod in 2016 and a first team bid last season.
The striker out of Bradenton, Florida put together another impressive campaign for the fourth straight season, leading the team and finishing fourth in the league with 10 goals and 23 total points. He also chipped in three assists.
For his efforts, Paynter picked up a fourth consecutive First Team All-Conference selection and became the only player in league history to be named ASUN Player of the Year, Scholar Athlete of the Year and Tournament MVP all in the same season.
Paynter also etched his name at the top of the Lipscomb record book with 36 career goals and 84 career points. Both are all-time marks in program history.
Paynter tallied a point in 10 matches and buried two game-winners.
