NASHVILLE – After a historic run to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament, the Lipscomb men’s soccer team was voted into three year-end Top-25 polls for the first time in program history.
The Bisons placed 16th in Top Drawer Soccer’s final top-25 ranking of the season, sitting between Air Force and UC Irvine and above programs like Louisville, North Carolina, and Michigan.
Lipscomb also finished 25th in the United Soccer Coaches final top-25 poll and the College Soccer News end-of-season poll, the only time they have been ranked in any of the three year-end polls.
In only their second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, their first coming last season, the Bisons pulled off not one, but two upsets.
In the First Round, the defeated Washington 5-4 on penalties after a scoreless tie through regulation and overtime.
They then travelled across the country to beat Central Florida 1-0 in overtime in the Second Round.
The Bisons fell to Kentucky 2-1 in the Sweet Sixteen to end a season for the ages.
