Men's soccer's Locke named USC All-Region

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lipscomb men’s soccer’s Ben Locke was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Third Team, as announced by the USC on Monday.

The senior has racked up a number of accolades over the season, including appearances on the All-Conference First Team, All-Academic Team, and All-Tournament Team.

Locke was a steadying presence in the midfield for the Bisons all season, scoring two goals for four total points, including the game-winning penalty strike against North Florida that cliched Lipscomb’s spot in the ASUN Tournament.

The Cleveland, Ohio natvie was integral to both the Bisons offensive attack and the defense, logging nearly 1200 minutes played, the third-most on the team and most of any non-defender.

Locke was one of six ASUN student-athletes chosen for the All-Region team: Rene White (NJIT, First Team), Ian McCauley (Stetson (Second Team), and Shak Adams (FGCU), O’Vonte Mullings (FGCU), and Andrew Nino (NJIT) all on the Third Team.

Locke is also the eighth Bison to earn All-Region honors in program history, joining Logan Paynter (3x honoree), Ivan Alvarado (3x), Joe Kerridge, Matt Kerridge, Luke Gearin, Omar Djabi, and Miguel DaSilva.
