CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Sophomore Oliver Strecker and freshman Daniel Hernandez led the Lipscomb men’s tennis team this past weekend at the “Austin Peay Fall Tournament,” each winning their brackets, giving the Bisons two out of the three championships.

ATLANTA – Led by sophomore David Salazar, the Lipscomb men’s tennis team continued fall action posting a dozen wins in the “Georgia State Fall Tournament” in Atlanta this past weekend.

ATHENS, Ga. -- Behind a stellar performance from newcomer Stuart Tierney, the Lipscomb men’s tennis team returned to Nashville after posting eight wins in the “Southern Intercollegiate Championships” hosted by the University of Georgia.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lipscomb men’s tennis team will hit the courts for the second time this season when they travel to Georgia this weekend to compete in the “Southern Intercollegiate Championships” at the University of Georgia.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lipscomb men’s tennis team opened the 2011 fall slate with nine wins in the “Tennessee Fall Invitational” held this past weekend in Knoxville, Tenn.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lipscomb men’s tennis team will kick off their fall season this weekend when they travel to Knoxville to compete in the “Tennessee Fall Invitational” hosted by the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Lynn Griffith, former Lipscomb tennis coach now serving as a professor in the kinesiology department, was joined by former Bisons tennis player Andy Mizell and Julianne McMeen, a former member of the Lady Bisons tennis team, on a trip to Haiti in July to teach and minister to those in need.

The future is looking bright for the Bisons' men's tennis team as they recently earned their highest ever recruiting ranking, according to a national website.

Paul Hembree played tennis for Lipscomb from 1939-1941. At the proud age of 89, he has the honor of being one of Lipscomb's oldest athletes. Retired and living in Brentwood, Paul recently visited with Andy Lane, Executive Director of the National Bison Club to reminisce about his athletic days at Lipscomb.

Lipscomb men's tennis signee Stuart Tierney won the Oregon 6A state championship last week in a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Tierney will begin at Lipscomb this fall.
