Mario Hernandez enters his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Lipscomb men’s tennis team.

Hernandez played four seasons at LU from 2007-11 and was the team captain for his junior and senior seasons. 

In additional to his duties as a coach, Hernandez will also be leading LU’s evening programs at the Lipscomb Racquet Club. 

Prior to joining the LU coaching staff, Hernandez was a teaching professional at North Shore Winter Club in Vancouver, British Columbia over the past winter and spring, working with juniors, adults and professionally ranked players. 

A native of Houston, Texas, moved to Vancouver when he was 16 and finished his junior career ranked in the top 45 in Canada. 

Hernandez graduated from Lipscomb with a Political Science degree and will be enrolled in the Institute for Civil Leadership.
